Who this is for: AppSumo lifetime-deal customers. On a regular paid Cleanlist plan instead? See the main product docs. Support agent: confirm the user is on an AppSumo code before giving this advice.
TL;DR: Your AppSumo plan has a hybrid credit model — a one-time bucket that never expires, plus an automatic monthly refill. Monthly credits are use-it-or-lose-it: unused monthly credits are forfeited at the next 30-day reset; only one-time credits carry forward. Need more? Buy the One-Time Credits add-on on AppSumo ($39 for 500 credits, scalable), or earn a one-time 1,000-credit bonus by leaving a review on AppSumo.
Credits & Refills
Cleanlist runs on credits. On the AppSumo deal, you get credits two ways: a one-time grant when you activate, and a recurring monthly refill.
The hybrid credit model
One-time credits (never expire)
When you activate your AppSumo license, your tier's one-time credit bucket is added to your balance immediately:
| Tier | One-time credits |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 250 |
| Tier 2 | 500 |
| Tier 3 | 1,000 |
| Tier 4 | 1,500 |
| Tier 5 | 2,000 |
| Tier 6 | 2,250 |
| Tier 7 | 2,500 |
These credits never expire. Unused one-time credits carry over indefinitely.
Monthly credit refill (use-it-or-lose-it)
On top of the one-time bucket, your account is automatically refilled every 30 days from your activation date:
| Tier | Credits per month |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 150 |
| Tier 2 | 400 |
| Tier 3 | 800 |
| Tier 4 | 1,200 |
| Tier 5 | 1,500 |
| Tier 6 | 3,000 |
| Tier 7 | 5,000 |
The refill is applied automatically every 30 days, with no action needed on your part.
Monthly credits are use-it-or-lose-it. Any monthly credits you have not spent before the next 30-day cycle resets are forfeited — they do not carry over. Only the one-time credit bucket (granted at activation, and credits purchased via the add-on) carries forward and never expires.
What credits are spent on
All credits live in one pooled balance shared across your whole organization — every seat draws from the same pool. A credit is a unit of work, and different actions cost different amounts, so your allowance does not translate 1:1 into "contacts." Common costs:
| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Email enrichment | 1 |
| Phone enrichment | 10 |
| Email + phone together | 11 |
| Live company enrichment | 1 per company |
| Find personal email | 1.5 per billable attempt |
Plan around the per-action cost, not a flat "contacts" number. Finding an email is 1 credit, but a full contact (email + direct phone) is 11 credits. A 2,000-credit allowance is therefore ~2,000 email finds or ~180 full email-and-phone contacts — pick the action to match your volume.
You're only charged for successful work. Failed email/phone enrichments cost 0 credits, and personal-email attempts that hit the cache or find nothing because every provider was unavailable are not billed.
How to get more credits
Review reward — 1,000 free credits
AppSumo customers can earn a one-time bonus of 1,000 credits by leaving a review of Cleanlist on AppSumo:
- Leave your review on the Cleanlist deal page on AppSumo.
- Claim the reward from the Plans & Billing page in the Cleanlist app (eligible AppSumo accounts see the review-reward prompt there).
- The Cleanlist team verifies your review and adds 1,000 credits to your balance.
The reward is granted once per account, after manual verification — so it is not instant, but it is on the way once you've claimed it. Review-reward credits are one-time credits and never expire.
One-Time Credits add-on
If you run low before your next monthly refill, buy the One-Time Credits add-on on AppSumo:
- Where: on AppSumo, on the Cleanlist deal page (under add-ons).
- Price: starts at $39 for 500 credits, and scales up to a maximum of 10,000 credits.
- How it works: purchased credits are added to your balance as one-time credits — they never expire.
- Refunds: the add-on is non-refundable.
The AppSumo One-Time Credits add-on is the credit top-up path for AppSumo customers. The credit packs and subscriptions shown on cleanlist.ai's standard pricing are for regular (non-AppSumo) accounts and are separate from your lifetime deal.
Refunds and your credits
If you refund or downgrade your AppSumo purchase, the credits granted by that purchase are removed from your balance (down to a zero floor — your balance never goes negative). See the AppSumo FAQ for refund details.
